Dashboard Development Without the Agency Price Tag
Your business data is in a dozen places and none of them talk to each other. Dashboard
development means building a private web application that connects those sources, pulls
fresh data on a schedule, and puts everything on one screen behind a login. I do that
work myself, without an agency overhead cost attached.
Custom dashboard dev is the work of connecting your actual data to a screen that makes
sense for your business. Not a template. Not a generic reporting tool. A private
application built on your data, your domain, and the five to ten numbers your team
checks every week.
What the build covers
Every custom dashboard development project starts with a data audit: which sources hold
the numbers you actually use, who needs to see them, and how often the data needs to
refresh. From there I build the connectors, the database that stores each pull, the
login system, and the screens. The nightly data fetch runs on a cron schedule and
requires nothing from you after setup.
I built and run a live private SEO dashboard on my own server that connects to Google
Search Console and GA4, keeps 16 months of history, tracks keywords per site, and
produces branded weekly and monthly reports in PDF, Excel and CSV. An independent audit
compared its numbers against live Google data and they matched. That is the standard I
apply to every custom dashboard development project.
How it is different from an off-the-shelf tool
Off-the-shelf dashboard tools charge a monthly seat fee for features you will never use
and leave gaps where your specific data source is not supported. Custom dashboard
development builds exactly the connectors you need, stores the data you want to keep,
and runs on a domain you control with no recurring software cost attached. You own the
build, not a subscription.
What the client provides
1.Access to each data source: API credentials, sheet access, or export files depending on the source.
2.The list of KPIs and metrics the dashboard needs to show, and who in the business uses each one.
3.Logo and brand colours for the dashboard interface and any report exports.
4.A domain or subdomain to host on, or confirmation to use a subdomain on mine.
5.A list of who needs a login and what data each person should see.
Proof
I built and run a live private SEO dashboard on my own server. It pulls from Google Search
Console and GA4 every night, keeps 16 months of history, has per-site pages, keyword
tracking, and branded report exports in PDF, Excel and CSV. An audit compared its numbers
against live Google data and they matched. I did not hire this out. I built it, I host it,
and I use it. That is the build I bring to every custom dashboard development project.
It starts with understanding which data sources you currently log into and which numbers you actually check. From there I build a private web application that connects to those sources, pulls fresh data on a schedule, and presents it through a login-protected screen on your domain. The result is software built around your specific data, not a generic tool you adapt to fit.
Google Search Console, Google Analytics 4, Google Sheets, Shopify, WooCommerce, CRM exports in CSV, and most tools that offer an API or a structured export. If a source publishes an API or exports clean data in a predictable format, I can build a connector for it. I ask about your specific sources before quoting so there are no surprises after the project starts.
Looker Studio is a shared link, not a private login. Power BI charges per seat and requires your team to learn a separate tool. Custom dashboard development gives you a private web application hosted on your own domain, with no per-user licence fee, no third-party accounts for your staff to manage, and no learning curve beyond logging in. You get the functionality you need without paying for features you will never use.
A standard build takes two to four weeks from the point I have access to your data sources. The first week is discovery and data connection. The second and third cover the dashboard screens and any report templates. The final week is review, adjustments and handover. More complex builds with multiple data sources or custom calculations take longer, and I will say so in the proposal.
You share data access at the start, review a screen layout before build begins, and sign off on the finished dashboard at the end. Between those checkpoints I handle the build. There is no ongoing involvement required from you during development unless I have a question about the data or the logic behind a specific number.
On your own cPanel hosting or on a subdomain of mine, whichever you prefer. If you want it on your domain, I provide the files and setup instructions. If you want me to host it, I handle server setup, maintenance and uptime. The dashboard data pulls run on a cron schedule on whichever server hosts it, so they continue without any manual input.

Your data. One screen. Built to your spec.
No off-the-shelf tool. No per-seat fees. Built from your sources, hosted on your domain.
